Wei Shen

Wei Shen is a software engineer at NextMark, Inc. Wei is responsible for developing such projects as an industry-specific search engine, a critical feature offered as part of the comprehensive research tools provided by NextMark. The search engine enables users to find information quickly and accurately, and hence, reduces research time significantly.

Prior to NextMark, Wei worked as an IT consultant for IBM's Global Services. During the past few years, he has gained valuable experience in designing and developing Java-based web applications. Recent projects include an extranet system for PartyLite, a multi-national gifts manufacturer and distributor, enabling its consultants in eight different countries to place orders online; a web-based secure asset control application for Fleet Financials; and an electronic project control book at Fidelity. Wei holds a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering from Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College. He also received dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Wei enjoys the tranquility and beauty of New England countryside. Jogging in the woods, canoeing in the lake, hiking in the mountain, and contra-dancing with local Vermonters are equally rewarding and fun as programming.
