October 13, 2004 Hanover, NH USA – NextMark, Inc., a leading provider of list commerce technology, today announced the release of version 5.3 of its software platform. More than sixty new features were introduced in this release. One of the most significant enhancements was the introduction of its List Popularity Index.
Joseph Pych, President of NextMark, said, “When seeking better lists, looking at data cards is only a start because you need to find out which lists are working for others. You can use your personal connections, but that is time consuming. You can use your personal knowledge, but it’s impossible to stay current with more than 45,000 lists on the market and scores of new ones coming on every day. Our new List Popularity Index enables our users to quickly and easily determine which lists are hot and which ones are not.”
NextMark’s List Popularity Index (or “LPI”) shows each list’s popularity rating on a range from 0 to 100 with 100 being the highest rating. The LPI scores are calculated using a proprietary algorithm that analyzes recency and frequency of more than 100,000 outside list recommendations made in the trailing twelve months of the scoring date. The LPI scores are updated monthly making it possible to detect rising (or falling) stars in the list market.
According to the October 2004 LPI ratings, these were the top ten lists of more than 45,000 lists rated:
- Hammacher Schlemmer Mail Order Buyers, ALC of New York
- The Lifestyle Selector, Equifax Direct Marketing Solutions, Inc.
- J. Jill, Millard Group
- Coldwater Creek – Northcountry, Millard Group
- Plow & Hearth, Millard Group
- LILLIAN VERNON Mail Order Buyers, ALC of New York
- FRONTGATE, NRL
- Company Store, The, ALC of New York
- Garnet Hill, Millard Group
- Ross Simons Masterfile, ALC of New York
The List Popularity Index is only available to users of NextMark’s List Research System.
