NextMark v5.9 Reveals Highly Correlated Lists

September 2, 2005 Hanover, NH USA – NextMark, Inc., a leading provider of list commerce technology, today announced the release of version 5.9 of its software platform. This new release introduced improvements to its List Strategy, List Brokerage, and List Management systems. One of the innovations is a new tool that identifies which marketing lists are highly correlated to one another.

Joseph Pych, President of NextMark, said, “One of the main challenges our clients face is finding lists similar to those that have already been proven to deliver good results. Until today, this has been an error-prone and time-consuming manual effort. Our software now automates this process by identifying which other lists are correlated to a given list, where correlation is the degree of similarity. Correlation scores are calculated using a proprietary algorithm that analyzes 43 million data points, each representing a relationship between two lists. The results of this algorithm are shown in a new section on each list’s data card called ‘Related Lists’ that displays a listing of the most highly correlated lists along with convenient controls for adding them to your campaign.

“For example, when given the Levenger list as the subject, the algorithm identifies Frontgate and Hammacher Schlemmer as highly correlated lists, which are fairly obvious results. However, it also identifies more obscure relationships such as the high correlation with The Atlantic magazine list. If Levenger works well for you, then Frontgate, Hammacher Schlemmer, and The Atlantic may be great lists to try in your next campaign.

“The correlated lists feature is yet another tool in our ‘toolbox’ that already included full text searching, relevance ranking, categorization, usage history, and popularity rankings. These tools enable our clients to more easily achieve higher response rates and return on marketing investment and give them a competitive advantage.”

NextMark Version 5.9 also introduces 53 other improvements including improved split commission tracking, service bureau fees automation, exchange balance limits, streamlined receipt process, brokerage and management report controls, improved bill format, payment reallocations, extended service bureau instructions, streamlined data card editor, enhanced insert program data card, and campaign snapshot.
