According to paidContent.org, Mozilla will include a “Do Not Track” option in Firefox 4 slated for release in early 2011. This will enable users to prevent third parties from tracking their online activities.
This announcement comes ahead of Do Not track laws threatened by the FTC. The FTC has sharply criticized industry for not adequately self-regulating.
Mozilla is not alone. Microsoft has also announced its intention to add anti-tracking features to its Internet Explorer in early 2011.
